For a Venezuelan artist Jan De Lassen, traveling in distant places is a major source of inspiration. An expatriate artist who has lived in Caracas, Barbados, Miami, London, Cairo and currently in Barcelona for the last years has shown his work in venues internationally.
And artist in his early fifties, Jan De Lassen studied painting in his native Caracas, where he also took part in some exhibitions and biennales.
Subsequently he did a lot of work for advertising and worked as a graphic designer for IBA (International Business Associate), Egypt Today, Sport and Fitness, Contact Magazine (the British Airways crew magazine) and various other commercial companies.
His paintings are usually colorful compositions that draw on a variety of styles to create a blend of surreal yet structures images.
